Curious what alternatives to spreadsheets do people use/know about?

This is mostly from the perspective of making some kind of alternative myself, so would also be interested in knowing what spreadsheet annoyances people have. But would love to use something that already exists.

By "alternatives to spreadsheets", I mean like any way of quickly (or slowly) making custom visualisations or summaries of existing data, especially if the data and visualisation are kept separate. Also any other interpretation is fine, because I get that spreadsheets are more like a general medium than a specific tool.

Is it just me or does this progress dial look like it wants to start a world war?

To distract myself from the football, have the latest in the F1 race scrutineering series. Somehow, a race as odd as the 2026 Monaco Grand Prix had very sensible scrutineering numbers - https://fulltimesportsfan.wordpress.com/2026/06/17/are-the-scrutineers-picking-on-my-driver-update-after-the-monaco-grand-prix/

@chu (this then off the intent of your question but there is then stuff like the @openstreetmap which also provides an interesting map resource for features and names https://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=6/47.42/20.92.

Are they picking on any of the drivers?
