Trying this #chiba process. It's like a blend between #cyanotype and #CarbonTransfer. I'm very skeptical about it working the way I made it. The guy online suggested Hyde glue. I went with #gelatine hardened with #gluteraldehyde. I had to add pigment twice because the first try was very thin and runny. I am using the green #ammoniumferricoxalate as the sensitizer. Usually had used #citrate. I haven't been successful in any of my carbon transfer experiments at all so what the heck.
So the result from this try was mixed. I seem to have failed at coating the #citrate sensitizer. I also may have burnt off the bright areas maybe because there were places where the image was really nice up to some sort of really sharp edge, then just sort of stopped working past that edge. Finally, I sacrificed the resulting image to the toning gods and dunked it into a tea I made using pinecones. Nothing happened! Except for a ton of bubbles under the sizing. So lots of learning.
Trying #CarbonTransfer again. Last time I had #citrate in the #emulsion and #exposure was 20 minutes. The #photo sort of melted in the wash. So I think I didn't have enough #exposure. This time I'm going to go for 30 minutes. The worst that can happen is I get my first carbon print and it's too dark. I now know that the photo details are supposed to be relatively resilient, they shouldn't just melt away. And maybe the #projector idea is not a workable one? Maybe not, but I could give up.

Attempting #carbontransfer again and it looks like #mold has taken over the #citrate #emulsion on my #acetate sheet. From here, I could just learn to grow #mushrooms or figure out a better way. So the sheet I left in open air dried up while the sheet I covered inside a plastic Tupperware ended up growing mold. I keep all my lenses in this same room. Looks like mold is going to win.
Well, the #carbontransfer is happening as we speak. I have my experiment #gluteraldehyde #sized paper and surface #citrate #sensitized and #UVexposed #carbontissue face to face under some weights. Neither dissolved in the process. However I didn't see a relief image after a couple minutes in the 3% #peroxide bath. So I think I'm in for another failed print. But it was fun so far. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Even if I just get a total black tissue transfered, that would be a win for me.
Looks like I just found a good #cyanotype combination of #formula and #process that may give me good results. It's the chiba process add the #citrate, dry then, add the #cyano. Here's a test sample that I cut in half so I could develop half of it.
And here we go one more time, one more adjustment to my process for rapid #cyanotype. This time I rubbed the #citrate in and cleaned it off with a paper towel. it's exposing a 9.5"x9.5"
It looks like I went overboard with the citric acid in the citrate layer. #Citricacid feels almost like sugar when being applied. It's tacky and maybe I needed to let it try for a few hours rather than jump right into it. When applying the citrate, the cyanide layer seem to melt and mix. I think I'm going to experiment with a layer of #citrate and Jell-O mix. So first layer with cyanide, wait for complete dry, then second with #citrate #glop mix.

At first, I found it hard to get my head around citrate anticoagulation for CRRT. I built a module to help others understand what I learned
