I finally got an email from Google apologising for breaking all my Chromecasts - I have quite a few of them. This is about 5 days since they stopped working. Presumably they wanted to leave just enough time for people to throw their old gadgets into the landfill and order a new gadget.
There's a strong 'sorry-not-sorry' energy going on there.
Cloud-dependent hardware really, really sucks.
Google seems to be in no hurry at all to fix the global outage of Chromecasts from ~2020 or older.
What a coincidence that all the current products aren't affected by this problem!
This is giving me plenty of time to sort out my plan of having lots of DVDs on my home media server.
Never expected that such a small device could drive millions of users around the world crazy.
This is the fourth night without the Chromecast, and it's so damn annoying.
When will Google release a fix?
