I have a Google #Chromecast 4k that's been great for years. #Google just flashed an update to it that automatically installs #Gemini AI with no way to opt out or shut it off. I ripped it out of the TV and will now be streaming directly instead. #nothanks #fuckyou

Besides the already mentioned Kodi, there's https://f-droid.org/packages/app.fedilab.castlab to stream from your Android device.
Similarly, https://f-droid.org/packages/org.videolan.vlc can also stream media.

Lembra quando a Google lançou Chromecast (software e hardware)? Pois é. Ainda existe Chromecast nos aparelhos com Android/Google TV, ainda existem aplicativos compatíveis com Chromecast no app Google TV do Android.

Mas se quiser transmitir a tela inteira do seu celular, tem que usar aplicativo de terceiros porque a própria Google não faz isso mais.

Question to the tech-savvy people who said bye-bye to #google much sooner than I did:

Is there an open source alternative to #chromecast to cast media from a phone running #grapheneOS or stock android to a TV, via maybe a #RaspberryPi or something?

The projects I find seem to be either abandoned or very limited in function. Both boosts and hints would be massively appreciated.
