An abandoned French pottery factory. It specialised in producing plaster moulds that were used by ceramics factories elsewhere.

Hundreds of forms remain on timber racks and wooden rail carts. The business collapsed suddenly when the owner allegedly fled with the company funds.

Lamps!💡 I got a commission for a batch of lamps a couple of years ago but they wanted very plain glaze, so not much room for expression. This is my first time making lamps and decorating them my way. They’re a special order for a collector in Texas. She sent me photos of past pots I’ve made to give me an idea of how she wanted each one to look. I hope she’s satisfied with the end result. #pottery #cermics #FunctionalPottery #beautility
These softer, unconsolidated clay pellets are fairly distinct. Grog, or what we call grog, typically is angular to subangular, often with a smooth surface on one side. In this image, the left has both ground up sherds & fired stiff clay lumps, which are indistinguishable. 6/ #cermics #archaeology

The first #introduction was in French, now the one in English.

I am Etienne Bernard, a French applied mathematician (PDE, especially #kinetic equations with a marked interest in application in biological modeling). I am at #Cermics that is the math lab of #ENPC (École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées).

I'll try not to just talk about math here. 🙂
