👏 Hearty congratulations to our subcommunity in New Zealand/Aotearoa for organising and hosting a successful CarpentryConnect event earlier this week! 🎉

The Carpentries' expansion and stability of its communities in different regions of the world are made possible by the self-directed activities of subcommunity members in those regions. We are extremely excited and proud, therefore, to have had another successful, subcommunity-organised regional #CarpentryConnect event!

We are also so pleased our Executive Director @drkariljordan was able to attend and deliver a keynote! And we also wish to extend thanks to all the attendees and guest speakers, including Tom Pollard, Christopher Endemann, Iva Momcheva, Olga Mineava and Giulia Crocioni.

CarpentryConnect Heidelberg 2024 came to an end today. I'm happy to go home but sad to have to say goodbye to all the lovely people from the Carpentries community. It was so amazing to meet many of you for the first time in person and also to see others in person again.

The second day of #carpentryconnect just start with the second keynote “Education is a community sport” by Rhadika Khetani.

#CCHD24 kicked off today at EMBL, with an amazing coincidence: the dates perfectly coincide with the 10 year anniversary of the first Software Carpentry workshop run at EMBL!

We celebrated the anniversary, with thanks to @luispedro and others who hosted/taught in November 2014!

Presenting in the picture is Lisanna Paladin, of the EMBL Bio-IT Project.

Edit: to add the presenter's name.
