#canHelpwith

I can help with any questions about navigating the world of special needs children (diagnoses, therapies, IEPs, school district challenges, homeschooling, meltdowns, venting etc.)

I’m also a dab hand at sewing, quilting, drawing/inking, watercoloring, and messy gardening. Feel free to ask for support in any of the above.

@anne_twain if you'd like something simple and subversive, there's a hashtag that needs livening up:

#canHelpWith - where people offer their skills/knowledge to help others get a leg up over whatever's an obstacle for them.

🧡You can help by following @lonelinesscorps - I think we need to get to a critical mass of ~1k before it really clicks.

You'll enjoy the increased randomness in your timeline as silos mix, folks find their people.

Plus one of the remedies for feeling powerless and alone is reaching out to help someone, even if it's small, even if it's simple.

And if nothing else you are helping me by picking up the conversations I start and then fall down on.

🧡2) I am gonna spool up the #sitTogether tag again as a place to share meditation or quiet moments of reflection and peace.
Drop in with your moments in image or in word, or heck even in sound, to share your moments of peace, and scroll the tag when you need a soul refresh.

So I #canHelpWith silence and #rest (as per this whole thread) and #meditation. I can also drop in some basics and easy access things for anybody feeling way too swamped to *meditate* ...

@farah people are sharing the #CanHelpWith tag. Maybe that will give you some ideas.

I #CanHelpWith disability support advice for English/Welsh (and a bit for Scottish/NI) universities and how to get the funding etc.

I know about disability healthcare rights and ways to complain that are less shit than complaints processes.

I know about public sector digital rights to disability access and inclusion.

I know about digital accessibility in general and help people make stuff more inclusive on a low budget.

I am quite good with assistive technology of various kinds too.

I #CanHelpWith signposting to disability rights stuff in the UK and how to challenge it. I can also help people challenge UK bureaucracies.

UK disability rights resources at www.reasonableaccess.org.uk (btw much of this can be adapted easily to trans legal rights too).

My friend @bright_helpings is resharing the #CanHelpWith hashtag here with skills-share he can offer within his communities.

[EDIT: Broken Link I can't fix cos friend's server is having a snit https://mspsocial.net/@bright_helpings/113437404293107859]

This is part of a fightback against shit-governments anywhere, people get together, build and sustain communities and help one another, especially marginalised members.

action is antidote to despair (@[email protected])

I #CanHelpWith disability advocacy in the UK, applying for benefits, helping make formal complaints about inaccessible services, etc. I can do life-admin, like fill in forms and make phone calls, which I'm happy to do for people if it gets them over a hurdle. I am a decent editor and a good proofreader of written English, U.S. and UK variants, and am happy to donate my skills to academic work, creative writing, personal stuff like job applications, whatever.

Who #CanHelpWith direct action organizing in Canada?

It's obvious to me that there is an international fascist movement that has its eyes on Canada next, and voting doesn't really stop it.

I know a little about emigrating from the U.S. to the UK (though in a weird and outdated way).
