@BrownKnowser Hard to believe it was almost 6 yrs ago; I remember spending the afternoon following Kumo and Long Ma through the Byward Market and along Wellington, like it was yesterday. Amazing spectacle! #LaMachine #Kumo #LongMa #Ottawa #Canada150
In 2017, I published 150 posts in 150 days on #TeahenTales to document "My Canada" as a #Canada150 project. I've returned to blogging regularly this year as we fix up our #Stratford #Ontario house and we're at #TeahenTales No. 200: a look at #design trends we're bypassing on #RenovationRoad. https://kelleyteahen.ca/2023/03/02/these-are-the-things-i-can-do-without/

#podcast: Challenging the "Unproductive Fictions" of #Canada150

http://grandrivermc.ca/content/awl-radio-challenging-unproductive-fictions-canada150

This episode of AW@L Radio (June 30, 2017), opens with a quick rant about Trudeau's massive increases to canada's military budget, and a brief chat about local ripening fruits.
For the remainder of the show, we are joined by Dr. Stephen Svenson for a discussion around #canada150 and this settler colonial state full of racist canadian nationalism.

Eloquent and thoughtful as ever, @Saro bringing unique insight to Todd Lyons’s #Toddcast for #Resistance150, #WorldRefugeeDay, and #Canada150 in the #PublicService. https://overcast.fm/+F4HhhZNDw/09:30
Happy Canada Day, everyone. While I'm not there for #Canada150 (and wish I could be), I was there (parents took me) for #Canada100 -- although we didn't have hashtags then. I also just realized that Mom was born in Canada only 3 weeks after #Canada50.

Kanata 150+, not #Canada150 http://news.umanitoba.ca/kanata-150-not-canada-150/
«Returning to France, Cartier turned to Dom Agaya and Taignoagny and demanded his two captives tell him where the riches of North America were.

The boys told him that the riches they knew of resided in “Kanata,” the “great village.” Cartier then marked his map with the name “Canada” and vowed to return to fulfill his vision.»

Listen to Tragically Hip today everyone. Great music #CanadaDay #Canada150

You can be simultaneously and legitimately both deeply proud of, and sharply critical of Canada, even on #Canada150

After all, is there anything more Canadian than saying, "Sorry"?

Hate colonialism all you want, but I'm still going to celebrate #canada150 in my own way. Canada is a pretty great country and better than most. I say this as a Métis and I don't need white people (or non-Canadians lol) telling me what to think :)
