Bit of early morning sewing adding a few more badges to my #campBlanket
Helping a friend out this afternoon on their #cubs camp. I am going to be running a campfire with lots of singing.
Two more badges added to my #CampBlanket.
After I finished I mulled whether I could rearrange my blanket into a poncho format without removing most of them.
I like the rug I used and my currently implemented concept is one where there are no irreversible changes and it can be restored to its original state. It wraps around me and ties with a button and loop I added.
I examined it, and I could actually cut a hole for my head (then reinforce neck), and not need to remove any badges.

Months ago I added a button and a loop to this old travel rug to make it into a cape-style camp blanket. My first.
Today I’ve finally gotten around to adding badges. It was a matter of finding time, feeling I had enough to start, and that those were of the type I wanted on it.
Over the months I’ve played about with numerous layouts. I now have a strategy, one that has both personal meaning and logic. And so I’ve started work on sewing them on.
Well I finally went into my parent’s attic to find the crate with the old blankets in it I knew was there.
All three are lovely quality. Two are needle-breaking thickness. So that leaves this one.
It’s too lovely though, and I can’t bring myself to cut a hole into it for a poncho-style camp blanket, so it’ll just be a standard wrap-around-the-shoulders one for my first one.
