2/2 New vintages are pushing up well past $200 these days, and from what I see online, if you have to ask how much this 2005 might cost now if you backfill, we can't afford it. 🤫 🤷 Still, I'm happy to drink it and remember the olden days. 😆 #wine #california #cabernetsauvigon

A Calif. icon & one of my faves. Drinking well, albeit youthful, this is perfectly balanced.

It's not surprisingly a Bordeaux ringer (Cabernet Sauv-dominated, with a big chunk of Merlot etc). It rolls over the palate with harmony, but without bombast or exaggeration. The fruit shows some indications of increasing maturity, and the nuances are classic. The alcohol is just 13.4%.

Newer years have climbed over $200! 👀😱 Happy to drink, not buying☹️
