I think Bubsy 3D would be much easier to control if it handled more like Syphon Filter. Both games were made by the same team and the only real difference between their control styles is Syphon Filter's analog turning and constant movement speed. Bubsy has a run button, in comparison.
Granted, Syphon Filter is a military shooty bang bang game while Bubsy 3D is a platformer, but one of the latter's biggest issues (in my opinion) is the overly slow turning that still manages to be wildly inaccurate. While full analog control would be the best solution, even applying it to left and right movement alone would be a huge improvement.
The Purrfect Collection tried to add full analog control with it's "refurbished" edition, and I think it would have worked if not for the camera still moving along the Y axis when you jump. The original game tilted the camera down to help you stick the landing, which was annoying, but functional. When you remove that feature but keep the vertical movement, the ground vanishes from view while you're trying to land on it. I think refurbished could have been great if not for that and the myriad of other bugs still present, because Limited Run Games sucks and likely rushed the devs to get the collection out with their stupid, closed source emulator.
