@kkarhan In a strange twist of fate, I am (so far) completely unaffected by any of this. All the machines I have use DDR3 and they are all maxed out anyway. Heck I even have a bunch of DDR3 left over. I am a *little* worried about SSDs but on the other hand I sit on a pile of old yet mostly reliable spinning rust that I could probably repurpose if many of my current SSDs should die next year. It's bizarre how being a "luddite" is a perfectly fine thing that saves me money. All my 2012-2015 machines are good enough to do all the things I want to do including building kernels and custom Linux distros in a mess of containers and VMs. I pity the people who are about to need some "current" technology upgrades though. And don't get me started on companies dumb enough to participate in these "corner the market" experiments for their own short-term gains. I'll try to stay the heck away from whatever they are selling in the future (if I can in fact remember all their names). Alright, end of rant. πŸ˜„ #ludditeswin #fuckai #screwaltman #boycottsamsung #boycottskhynix #boycottmicron
