My PCP was on vacation last week and the hospital decided to use a FUCKING AI CHAT BOT to cover him.

You know how I know? I was trying to get a refill of a medication and I cried to two people about how I needed it filled before today because I need to clean my apartment before tomorrow morning when my landlord does inspections so I don’t get evicted for having a dish full of dishes. Because that’s an actual threat when you live in subsidized housing.

Today I got a call back from a nurse who told me that the “doctor” covering my doctor wanted her to call me to GIVE ME FUCKING HOUSING RESOURCES.

Why would I (or should I) need housing resources when I have housing and I’m just trying not to lose it because I have a chronic illness that apparently has no effective treatments except for a few that helped me, one of them being prednisone, which was all I was trying to get. 10 mg of fucking prednisone.

But sure, call me and give me Housing resources because that’s exactly what an AI Chatbot would tell you to do.

an argument AI boosters use to justify AI "art" is that it's a tool that people will find a way to use as means for creative expression. and while strictly speaking i think it's true because i'm yet to think of something that *can't* be used as means for creative expression, that doesn't mean it *should* be used as means for creative expression.
