#aislop #fuckai
I know it's joke day but I'd really like to ask developers of open source-focused projects why not use open source-focused platforms? What does Github have that #Codeberg doesn't?
Certainly it's a bit annoying to report issues and download applications from a platform that is dedicated to use AI for everything and on top of that collect user data through it
Don't recommend people to disable the AI features of the platforms, better to go directly to the source of the problem and recommend free alternatives to it...

When the gen AI hype finally dies, if the broader public takeaway isnât that tech solutionism won't save us, then we as dissidents in industry will have failed.

Truly the release of the #ClaudeCode is the greatest possible gift to AI skeptics like myself. They proudly proclaimed themselves as eating their own dog food in coding it with itself. Like all dog food, it ends up as dog shit.
Recently I disengaged with my local developer community when at an in-person event where I was looking for specific recommendations the only advice given was "Just have Claude code it." At the time I found this unsatisfying. Now that we've seen the quality of what Claude code produces for itself - one would assume the crown jewel of code production - I smugly double down on my rejection of that advice.
I will steadfastly refuse to erode my own skill set in favor of a tool that can achieve short term goals at the cost of all quality, understanding and pride in one's output. Claude and all LLMs can go to hell.
For reasons....*points at everything*... this comic by @existentialcomics is permanently living in my brain
The alternative of course, is that these images are real. The woman in the last image could very well be a stand in for Joan Collins. But the mere fact that AI makes me doubt myself and/or forces me to do the work to find out whether they are real or not, takes all the fun out of it.
