Because @thaj requested it during the last LinuxLUGcast, here are a couple work in progress shots of my latest project: a board bow! I've gotten it roughed and I'm starting to put on a fiberglass backing. Once that's dry, I should be able to start tillering.

i am very chuffed. because a favourite bow wood provider will close shop at the end of the year, i went and picked up a quarter log of hickory when i last visited him. i just completed the most critical split in that piece, and it went exactly as planned.

also, i’m sweaty af now, because jeez, that stuff just wants to stick to itself. even after the split was done, i had to get a machete and hack apart all the wood fibres still connecting it and not letting go.
