@alex and I have started working on our first project for the summer: the Eagle Nebula. With less than three hours of imaging time, we captured the iconic "Pillars of Creation" from our balcony in NYC.

I look forward to working on the final image once we gather more data.

These images of the Dumbbell Nebula (M27) are some of our best work to date. Also, this project marks our first attempt at imaging a planetary nebula.

We're forever trying to recreate the moonrise sequence from Koyaanisqatsi.

Tonight, we *finally* have clear skies, so we're scoping out new targets! Also, the view from Queens is spectacular.

@alex

I spent the afternoon stacking our images of the North America Nebula's Cygnus Wall (NGC 7000) from the past two nights. These photographs are unstretched (the second image was viewed using SIRIL's histogram function), but they highlight the limitations of our equipment and the challenges of NYC's light pollution levels.

Final edited images are forthcoming!

Galaxy season has officially commenced! Last night, we photographed the Whirlpool Galaxy (M51) from our fire escape.

Due to abysmal weather, the first part of March has not been productive for astrophotography.

Fortunately, tonight's sky is clear, so @anackenoff and I are photographing the Whirlpool Galaxy (M51).

I'm testing out the live-stacking feature in the latest beta version of @Siril_Official tonight!

@alex and I are photographing the Horsehead and Flame Nebulae from our NYC fire escape.

Throwing in the towel on #M45. Was a good lesson! Too hard from DC. Can't get rid of this gradient in #PixInsight :(
55x90" @ ISO400.

Naive going for a broadband target after success on #M42, not realizing how much my UHC filter was saving the day.

Also this Canon 1100D's dark bars bug is on its way out-- going to swap for an entry level cooled cam - ASI294MC Pro clone.

Still love the tight stars from autoguiding! Anyone have success with #Pleiades from a #bortle9? #astrophotography

I'm still working on learning the best shoot profile for Pleiades #M45 in #bortle9 skies, but I'm really excited about this picture -- it looks like my Celestron AVX mount, polar camera, and guide scope are all really appropriate for each other, and I have a great combo for learning autoguided shots! This guide error looks really really promising -- this is with the medium size #svbony #sv503 80ED rather than the wider field 70mm I was testing. #astrophotography #astrodon
