I have been absolutely swamped and unable to register or follow #FediForum, but has anyone been discussing @Bonfire?

The more I look into it, the more I feel like it has the potential to be a successor to Mastodon (at least in terms of software, not necessarily "the brand" of a platform).

I don't know if people are building on it, but if I were a software dev, that's absolutely where I'd be spending my time these days.

Hi #fediverse and #ActivityPub developers!

I'm currently working on interoperability testing for #Hollo and #Fedify, and I need a #Bonfire account to test federation with their implementation.

Since there aren't many open public Bonfire instances available, I was wondering if any Bonfire instance admins out there would be willing to grant me a test account? It would be a huge help for improving interop! Let me know if you can help. Thanks!

ich bin ja immer skeptisch, wenn wer von "Software™" schwärmt.
Aber!

@bonfire ist so ziemlich das sympathischste Software-Projekt, das ich zurzeit kenne. Ich konnte vor einer Weile mit Ivan, einem der Entwickler, plaudern. In der Zwischenzeit wurde alles nur noch aufregender.

Bonfire networks kann Zugang zum Fediverse. Und macht ganz vieles sehr vielversprechend.

bspw:

modular: verschiedene Geschmacksrichtungen möglich (bspw. für Wissenschaft, mutual aid, blogging, Archive)

circles & boundaries: Privatsphäre kann sehr viel präziser eingestellt werden als bspw. auf Mastodon. Und Gruppen mit eigenen Feeds und Privatsphäre-Einstellungen sind möglich.

care: sie entwickeln bewusst sorgfältig und langsam. Priorisieren Unterhalt und geben sich beste Mühe, Burnout zu verhindern.

und, und, und. Es läuft auch gerade ein Crowdfunding (*räuspergeräusch*). Da beschreiben sie ihre Pläne ganz gut:
