CBC reporting that Elizabeth May has said she will be voting for the budget tonight. Which means the Liberals only need one more vote for it to pass, or for two MPs to abstain.

Seems unlikely we will have an election from this budget vote... but you never know!

The #Liberals have 169 seats, the Conservatives 144, the Bloc 22, the NDP 7 and the Greens 1. That means that if the budget fails to pass, the #CPC, the #Bloc and the #NDP must all vote against it.

I continue to expect most of the NDP members (the party least ready for an election) not to vote against, either abstaining or absent. But possibly the Liberals will be so maladroit as to unite the opposition parties to vote against, or so devious as to engineer their own fall.
