I'm a reluctant #HouseKeeper. I seldom vacuum or clean my carpets or dust unless the "need" is obvious & even then I'll procrastinate about it.

Well, I finally decided that my carpets needed cleaning. So, I endeavored to find the "right" carpet cleaner to buy. #Bissell & #Hoover dominate this market & when I did the research on the "best" carpet cleaner to buy, the "reviews" were inconsistent.

So, I just threw caution to the wind & bought the one that I was most attracted to (for relevant & irrelevant reasons) BUT, while I usually do NOT buy extended product warranty for the things that I buy, I bought 1 for this item because more than enough people report them failing in less than a year & because I've owned a carpet cleaner before that did the same thing.

Fingers crossed that it lasts long enough for at least 1 extensive use to clean my carpets, the cost of which hopefully will be less than it would have cost to rent one.

I need a new vacuum mop (wet dry mop), but I can put that off for later.

Do not buy a Bissell CrossWave. They have this really, small, opening on the vacuum head. They must have known that would easily clog up with hair, because the whole vacuum head can be pulled a part. But it is all hard plastic and you, really (really), need to give it a good firm pull, which means it puts a strain on those parts over time.

Yay! Tomorrow @amerikate returns from her work trip - and I have missed her SO MUCH.

I also spent the evening cleaning up a bit. Sadly, the music room and dining room aren't great still (because of the work in our garage), but at least the carpets are cleaner.

Sadly though, our Big Green Machine from #Bissell still leaks, even though I replaced the thing I thought was leaking. Guess I need to do some more investigations?

I’ve heard the #rightToRepair law is not well defined, so i could be wrong about #Bissell’s non-compliance. I’ve only seen cliff’s notes of the law. Guess I need to do some digging unless someone has a hard and fast answer.

@jerry I think #Bissell is breaking the EU #rightToRepair law. My appliance came with minimal literature. E.g. no instructions written in text, just pics, one of which I don’t understand. These paper manuals reference global.bissell·com, no physical address, thus inherently excluding all offline consumers from service.

I’m partially online. When I visit the site, it blocks me (tor). Even when I circumvent the block, 2 of 3 manuals are dead links.
