Common terns, common enough along the North Atlantic ocean shores, though far less common in upstate New York - the only ones you usually see around here are Caspian terns. These guys were much more petite, with lighter bills, longer tails and red rather than black legs. Much less timid too, didn't seem to mind as I drifted by on a kayak. They even had a fledge nearby they were still feeding, great to see!
