Happy #Halloween, holiday of #bioarchaeologist s with one of our all-time favourite objects, an 18th century #rosary bead carved from bone

#archaeology @archaeodons

Posting another #introduction (since it has been a few weeks and there are a lot of new folks here)! I'm a #bioarchaeologist interested in #ethics of research on #human remains and #epidemiology in periods of past #ClimateChange. I'm a #professor of #Biology at UNC Greensboro. I'm also mom of 4 kids, 3 #dogs, 2 #cats. My Twitter still exists (@GRSchug) but I'm building a new community here. I post about #ClimateMastodon, #Health, #Ethics, and #Archaeology.ing
@electricarchaeo Thank you for sharing this! It's something as a #bioarchaeologist concerned with ethical treatment of human remains that I keep an eye on. I wasn't aware of this project. A whole other sphere for @digitalarchaeology
(and if this posted multiple times, apologies, still getting used to Mastodon)!

#Introductions

I'm a #DentalAnthropologist and #bioarchaeologist who studies early life stress in relation to later life 'health'. I look at microscopic dental indicators of growth disruption and skeletal indicators of morbidity and mortality currently in #medieval populations. I enjoy collaborating on #aDNA and #proteomic approaches for improved understanding of #disease and #palaeodemography in the populations I study.

In my spare time, I like to read, walk, and spend time with my dog.

#Introduction - Hi Im Alice. I am a #bioarchaeologist specialised in #osteology, #palaeopathology and #isotope analysis of skeletal remains to research diet and mobility in the past.

I am currently working as a #postdoc on the #FoodCult project, looking into diet and identity in #EarlyModern Ireland.

I am interested in all sorts of areas of #archaeology, including #medieval and #prehistoric Britain. Also #rstats / #Rarchaeology nerd.

#Introduction

I'm a #BiologicalAnthropologist and #Bioarchaeologist who studies #palaeopathology (incl. trauma and impairment), and #biomechanics. I love & use digital research methods, as well as creative approaches to post-secondary teaching!

In my (rare) spare time I ride horses, knit, and dabble in photography! I also *adore* bunnies 🐇

I'm still getting used to this platform (& am migrating from mas.to) - I appreciate any suggestions for people/hashtags to follow to build my network!
