just as well written and well acted as the first one, but somehow the melancholy and the vision of what was and what could be and what was lost and what they could gain now, with the reality of their lives in all the years that passed... something about that really hit me i guess. and i don't really know why? im closer in age to jesse and celine from the first movie than i am in this, but that felt less real than this, despite this being infinitely less possible
it was beautiful. especially that scene in the car... hawke and delpy are incredible, the script is incredible, this whole movie is just people talking like the first one and i love it, they manage to have conversations so profound but deeply rooted in reality, it makes you feel like you've never had a real conversation in your life. incredible movie. absolutely deserving of a 10 out of 10 from me
