For the record, #Haiku isn't based on Linux at all, but is an open source clone and continuation of BeOS (this was the biggest flub from a retro enthusiast IMO). And the Amiga had preemptive multitasking before BeOS and the BeBox. From what I've read online throughout the years, the Amiga had some influence on Be and BeOS in its design.
