@loriemerson Barbed wire! Instant memory was from age 7, playing hide-and-seek in the dark with sibs and friends, and being painfully surprised by running into a barbed wire fence. But there is a sweet memory from that night: The loving face and gentle hands of my friends’ mom as she sat beside me, disinfecting and taping up my tummy as I rested on their sofa.
