Cummins Nursery, where I've bought a number of fruit trees from, just started putting out educational videos, mainly on pruning trees so far. I could watch this guy work for hours. The sped-up part is fun.

I'm going to try to graft some cuttings of the apple tree from my childhood onto one of the apple trees I bought and planted. The place I bought my trees from (Cummins Nursery) has a guide. I appreciated their simple introduction to the reasons behind grafting. 1/3

All it took was six years of care-taking, lessons learned, and more than a little luck (or possibly divine favor), but this year I have peaches! Or maybe the peach trees are saying, "Hey, this year has been rough - here's something sweet to help you through for a bit." Either way, I'm grateful.

My 7 year old peach trees (6 years in the ground here) look like they might just provide fruit this year. In the meantime, I'm taking this as a sign that they are happy and healthy and maybe I've hit my stride in caring for them. They sure are pretty though.
