This afternoon I'll be heading back into my #workshop to attempt my first #woodworking project since my #backsurgery six months ago.

I've had a big chunk of butcher block worktop sitting around for over two years, so thought I'd turn it into fancy chopping boards for various family members.

"Just remember that other people have it worse" has got to be one of the most callous, denigrating, dismissive, minimizing responses possible when someone asks you "How are you doing" and you respond honestly. When you're 4 weeks removed from major back surgery.

I fucking hate that. "You don't have it the worst of anyone in the world so you shouldn't complain" is the utter height of bullshit.
