Stop the blockade of civilian sea rescue!
Free the fleet!
The Italian government has long been cracking down on civilian sea rescue:
criminalizing our work, blocking missions, and forcing ships to communicate with Libyan militias—militias that fire on people fleeing and on our crews.
This must end.
Over a dozen organizations have formed the Justice Fleet. Together we say:
We will not communicate with armed militias. We will not be intimidated.
Italy now threatens to detain the Humanity 1 for refusing such communication. This aims to force renewed cooperation with militias. If this continues, all our ships are at risk. But we will not back down.
We will not watch Italy and the EU violate international law. We refuse to take part in their inhumane system.
👉 On Monday we take to the streets!
For human rights. For the right to rescue. For the freedom of our fleet.

Die italienische Regierung geht seit Jahren gegen zivile Seenotrettung vor:
Sie kriminalisiert unsere Arbeit, behindert Einsätze und zwingt Rettungsschiffe zur Kommunikation mit der „Koordinierungsstelle“ libyscher Milizen – jenen Gruppen, die auf fliehende Menschen und auf unsere Crews schießen.
Damit muss Schluss sein!
Mehr als ein Dutzend Organisationen haben sich zur Justice Fleet zusammengeschlossen. Gemeinsam sagen wir:
Wir kommunizieren nicht mit bewaffneten Milizen. Wir lassen uns nicht einschüchtern.
Jetzt droht Italien, das Rettungsschiff Humanity 1 festzusetzen, weil die Crew sich geweigert hat, mit der libyschen Leitstelle zu sprechen. Damit will man uns zwingen, wieder mit Milizen zu kooperieren.
Wenn die Regierung an diesem Kurs festhält, sind alle unsere Schiffe bedroht. Doch wir geben nicht nach.

Come protest against racist ableist police brutality with us!
In November, a 12 year old Deaf girl was seriously injured by police shooting. Her mother and brother were forcefully fixated by police and had to witness the brutality against their daughter and sister.
Both are also Deaf, the brother using serbian and the mother german sign language.
This is an attac on all of us, on our disabled and migrant siblings!
The attac clearly shows how race, gender and ability intersect. And it shows, how children and FLINTA* people are valued less in our society.
We want to oppose those who profit off of our discrimination.
We want to resist against a state and its police, who are committing such horrible crimes against us.
Let’s unite and protest together!

Kommt zur Protestkundgebung gegen rassistisch ableistische Polizeigewalt!
Im November wurde ein zwölfjähriges, T*taubes Mädchen in Bochum durch mehrere Schüsse der Polizei schwer verletzt. Ihre Mutter und ihr Bruder wurden von der Polizei gewaltsam fixiert und mussten die Gewalt an ihrer Tochter bzw. Schwester miterleben.
Beide sind ebenfalls T*taub, der Bruder nutzt serbische und die Mutter deutsche Gebärdensprache.
Dieser Angriff ist ein Angriff auf uns alle, auf unsere behinderten und migrantischen Geschwister.
Der Angriff zeigt die Schnittstelle von Race, Gender und Ability klar auf. Und er zeigt, dass Kinder und FLINTA* Personen in unserer Gesellschaft weniger ernst genommen werden.
Wir möchten denjenigen, die von diesen Diskriminierungsformen profitieren, entschlossen entgegentreten.
Wir wollen unseren Widerstand gegen einen Staat und seine Polizei ausdrücken, der solche grausamen Taten verübt.
