Last year, after lots of procastination from fear of judgement, I started my own OSS library for .NET authentication for #azurestaticwebapps

I started it purely because I got fed of rewriting fpr each project I did. Now I just add a NuGet package and it's done.

After anout 6 months or so I am on 1K downloads. Seeing as I never expected a single one I'm totally stocked about this!

(For those interested, the package registers an AuthenticationStateProvider that uses the SWA ClientPrincipal for authentication in Blazor, and uses the Headers to extract that same ClientPrincipal in a .NET API. On top of that is also includes a GetRoles function needed in custom auth - allowing users to inject their code for figuring out what roles a user dhoulf have without having to fight that implementation yourself)

I've gotten back into streaming over the last couple of months, and it's going great. Except for the weeks when I just have way too much on 😅 This week being one of them... PIano tuner this afternoon means that I have to move my stream to another day - but I'm also quite busy the rest of the week, ao I have to see when I have time...

That said, I do have a couple of fun things that I want to do. I'm waiting for some new hardware, if it arrives I'm going to be building a cheap, but powerful mini server - and I mean mini.

If it doesn't arrive then I'm going to be playing with #AzureStaticWebApps #DotNet auth - there is something I've been wanting to try for an age, so it's about time I get into it!

Now just to find a time when I'm both free, and have energy!

Are there any #React devs out there who have deployed to #AzureStaticWebApps?

I’m looking to get a feel for how to think about cost since it scales with bandwidth. I would assume that bundle size/caching becomes a bigger concern given the pricing model. Is it trivial to achieve scalable costs or did you find your costs ballooning compared to a more traditional deployment model?
