"Shabake" erzählt eine Fantasy-Kriminalgeschichte im Japan der Edo-Zeit. Ein junger, kränklicher Erbe eines Handelshauses wird von Geisterwesen beschützt - und klärt mit deren Hilfe auch eine Verbrechensserie auf, in die er verwickelt wird.
Atmosphärisch und in einem ausgewogenen Tempo erzählt wird man in die authentisch (wenn auch mit Übernatürlichem) vermittelte Epoche mitgenommen. Vielleicht nicht eine der besten Serien der letzten Saison, aber sehenswert, wenn einen diese Mischung inhaltlich anspricht.
