@DenisCOVIDinfoguy @auscovid19 the kiwi government was proposing to fine parents of those kids. Because make parents poorer {something} cure covid!

(I think they've actually passed the law. Sadly it doesn't stand out as unusually stupid for the current government)

Sickness-related school absences to be targeted under government plan

David Seymour says he has not made any firm decisions about changing the attendance rules system so parents can be given on-the-spot fines - yet.

“And for many people with long COVID and ME/CFS, exercise is a sure-fire way to provoke PEM [post-exertional malaise], which is why clinical guidelines in the US and UK advise doctors not to recommend it without strict supervision.”

The article is written from the fallacious viewpoint that the lethality and severity of Cobid-19 was, (a) known, and (b) known to be not severe.

Neither was true.

And it looks like these fantacists are who the government is now listening to around Covid policy.

Crossing my fingers, hope we stay lucky. Hell of a way to steer health policy.

Vale Mary-Louise McLaws.
May her name be a blessing.

I admired Mary-Louise McLaws for her advocacy for public health and skilful science communication — bringing her expertise as a world renowned epidemiologist to everyday Australians during the worst times of the pandemic.

I am loving the constant “we need higher productivity” in the faux-debate about wages.

We had higher productivity, and we threw it away because Scott wanted Covid over so he had a shot at the election.

Business loved that plan.

Now staff are off sick constantly, and have “brain fog” and productivity is tanking.

You want productivity? Control the virus.

So there's a shortage in garbage truck drivers, a shortage in postal drivers, a shortage in couriers... are we seeing a problem here? Did we forget we're still not even half way through a pandemic that's causing mass death and disability? #AusCovid
@DenisCOVIDinfoguy a good review of the current situation. I hope it reached a wide audience. Well done Laura Tingle. #AusCOVID
@DenisCOVIDinfoguy am I reading this right? 8000 deaths predicted in Victoria in the 12 months from October 2022. How can that not be causing alarm or at least some serious changes to our public health response now!#AusCOVID #auscovid19
