The Art Deco former Odeon Cinema on Renfield Street in Glasgow. Designed by Verity and Beverley, it opened in 1934 as the Paramount with a seating capacity of 2,800. In the 1930s, Glasgow had around 120 cinemas, meaning it had more per person that anywhere else in the world at that time and earning it the nickname Cinema City.
