Strigix@dennisthepeasant This was part of the logic behind the #ArmTransWomen push on twitter- even if not every trans woman gets strapped, if ENOUGH get armed and trained, and right wingers realize that "oh shit the trans have guns," then suddenly fascists thinking about going out and queer-bashing will have to consider- does this one have a gun? Am I going to get shot if I do this?
I don't think this will eliminate anti-queer violence, but if queer and trans people are viewed as a hard target generally, then hopefully that will at least diminish the level of violence overall and give the queer community time and space to organize.
