Next #Anthos thread (are these called super-strings on Mastodon? 😀) Config Management! It's a bit fiddly to set up, but it's super-powerful. It allows you apply the declarative model of management to multiple clusters. You declare everything for all clusters in a repo, and a controller makes sure that your declarations remain true, eliminating (in theory) any config drift.

Here's your first new #Anthos concept: Fleets. A Fleet is group of #Kubernetes clusters that share the same namespaces, services, workload identities, and mesh identity, so they are managed to together. There are different design patterns for fleets, such as everything in one fleet, or isolating non-production to its own fleet. I'm new to Mastodon so I guess I do this as a thread? Anyway, I first attended the #Anthos training at Google way back in mid-2019. It has come a long long way since then.
