For nearly 10 years, Eric Poulin has been having episodes where he seems drunk — without taking even a sip of alcohol.

I Quit Drinking for a Year

I’ve been thinking about starting a dedicated account to review alcohol-free beers. The quality has improved so much lately—they’re really worth talking about! Since I’ve been dry for a year now, I feel like I can offer a fresh perspective. What do you think? Would you follow an account like that?
Oh, FFS. Why do companies stop selling decent stuff?
I drink Shipyard's Low Tide because it's 0% and so I can have a beer from my Beer 52 box and a Low Tide and I'm only having a unit or two. Low Tide was one of the better alcohol-free pale ales.
Morrisons stopped stocking it. Co-op don't stock it. Waitrose don't stock it. I bought it from Marstons last time and now THEY don't stock it.
Went on the Shipyard website. It lists all of the big supermarkets and Amazon in the "Where to buy" list but NONE of them seem to stock the Low Tide 😐
What am I supposed to drink? 0% Ghostship? The taste is lacking and the mouth feel isn't there. 0% lager? There's more of those, but they're not great, and they're not pale ales.
Finally beginning to see the bigger changes I expected from giving up alcohol. One year in. It takes that long. Mainly physical, but also psychological.
Although I miss some aspects of drinking I can now clearly see the benefits of stopping: but I haven’t turned into an anti-drink crusader. I feel bizarrely at peace with it. I’d been drinking a long time, but like giving up tobacco it’s never too late I guess.
