Two 19-year-old guys, Phillip Chandler and Marlowe Hammer, have been locked in a bunker since the nuclear war of 1986 but finally break out into the post-apocalyptic world of 2001, armed with little more than their naive horniness and their love of 1940s hard-boiled detectives, and promptly get caught up in a struggle over the keys to the last remaining nuke on Earth.
