#Akaunting is probably what you need.

I think #InvoiceNinja also does basic accounting.

Firefly III is more of a persona finance tool.

I started supporting the treasurer of an association I am a member of and would like to change in the near future from #QuickBooks to a #FOSS alternative. As of now, there are no tools for managing members, filesharing, documentation etc. Getting a #nextcloud is already planned, but since I am not familiar with solutions for #accounting, managing members etc. I would love to her about your experiences with tools as #Akaunting, #OpenPetra, #CiviCRM and #Tendenci. #NGO #nonprofit_organization

@sailreal I'm on the hunt for a new CRM/invoicing solution, too. Moved from #InvoicePlane, which was abandoned, to #Crater, which now is abandoned, too. I've also taken a look on #akaunting and #invoiceninja which are both #opensource but apparently not free software. There's also #Odoo, #tryton, #erpnext and #dolibarr which are full blown (but customizable) ERP solutions. At the moment I'm playing around with dolibarr. It looks promising.

Yeah. I think GnuCash is the most viable option, as I don't want to get into self-hosting something like #Akaunting.

But #GnuCash doesn't exactly have a name that would cause people to take it very seriously. :-P

So I guess #Akaunting is also going to be deprecated. I hadn't been following that project closely, and it looks like it has become open core with closed apps that you can install.

Worse than that it requires you to register for an API key on their site before you can install your own instance, and this is incompatible with the goals of #Freedombone. Your server should not inherently depend upon a specific other server in order to run, and there are also potential privacy implications. It doesn't matter how trivial the API key may or may not be.
