OpenAI planuje premierę nowej, sztucznie inteligentnej przeglądarki internetowej, która ma być alternatywą dla Safari i Google Chrome — informuje Reuters.

Premiera narzędzia ma nastąpić w ciągu najbliższych tygodni.

Nowa przeglądarka będzie wykorzystywać technologię AI, by zmienić sposób przeglądania internetu, integrując funkcje podobne do ChatGPT oraz systemu SearchGPT, stworzonego przez OpenAI. Przeglądarka ma zatrzymywać część interakcji wewnątrz interfejsu AI, bez konieczności przechodzenia na zewnętrzne strony, co radykalnie zmienia sposób konsumpcji treści online.

OpenAI od dawna próbowało uzyskać dostęp do danych wyszukiwania Google w celu ulepszenia SearchGPT, jednak spotkało się z odmową. Stąd pomysł stworzenia własnej przeglądarki, która pozwoli firmie na samodzielne zbieranie danych o wyszukiwaniach użytkowników, tak jak robi to Chrome dla Google.

Nowy produkt może też zawierać agenta AI Operator, zdolnego do automatyzacji zadań, takich jak rezerwacje czy wypełnianie formularzy — bez potrzeby klikania.

W kwietniu 2025 jeden z dyrektorów OpenAI stwierdził nawet, że firma byłaby zainteresowana zakupem przeglądarki Chrome, jeśli Google zostałoby zmuszone do jej sprzedaży w ramach działań antymonopolowych.
