Hmmm... Dang it. Pretty sure it's a patch of #Agaricus hondensis in my backyard. Cap seems like it would be too light for A. sylvaticus, also some other older #mushrooms had that sort of dark nipple on top of the cap, which A. sylvaticus doesn't have either.

The reason I'm stuck on A. sylvaticus is because that was the first #fungal ID that iNaturalist suggested, so maybe my bad for still using that app instead of a proper field guide and spore print like a determined forager. This is a tricky genus to ID confidently in my experience... I really wouldn't trust the app for this genus without at least a verification by someone I consider an expert.

I have yet to find an edible Agaricus species (outside the grocery store) in my #foraging. Maybe that should be my goal for next year? 🍄‍🟫
