Fungal electronics

Fungal electronics is a family of living electronic devices made of mycelium bound composites or pure mycelium. Fungal electronic devices are capable of changing their impedance and generating spikes of electrical potential in response to external control parameters. Fungal electronics can be embedded into fungal materials and wearables or used as stand alone sensing and computing devices.

🍄‍🟫Mushrooms show Promise as Memory Chips for Future Computers.

Researchers from The Ohio State University recently discovered that common edible fungi, such as shiitake mushrooms, can be grown and trained to act as organic memristors, a type of data processor that can remember past electrical states.

Any Aspergillus researchers around here? I'm not one, but I'm giving a talk on BRC-Analytics/Galaxy next month and would like to replicate an analysis in a recent paper. Can somebody point to a recent paper that might be well known in the community that involved sequencing (like variant calling/pop gen, RNASeq/transcriptomics/differential expression, etc)? Thanks! #fungi #fungal

"Regulating the names of fungi"

TLDR - "The issue of naming fungi known only from environmental DNA sequences was debated at length, but no decisions were made, and this will be revisited at the 13th International Mycological Congress in Incheon, South Korea in 2027"
