Visiting Family & Acros II

This one's a little abstract. Shot at the base of some cliffs that we could walk up to looking straight up at the bush managing to grow out from the rock.

Here's one of the images from the first roll of 120 I developed from Iceland (the one I shared yesterday). I had wanted to take a color image of this too but there were Arctic tern's in the area and they didn't seem to want me to take this in color, and so I didn't. They're mean little buggers...

Shot on my Hasselblad with the 80mm lens using a light green filter with Acros II, souped in Zone Imaging's 510-Pyro using a rotary process. The grass was a brilliant green in the sun so I thought the light green filter would help accentuate it. While the negatives turned out well, I'm pondering souping the next Acros II roll using one of the hand inversion methods rather than my usual rotary process just to compare the difference as I might end up developing the sheet films that way (once they arrive in the mail back from Iceland). One of the issues I seem to be encountering is possibly the exhaustion of the 510 for the longer dev times I need with T-Max 100 in order to get the CI I'm expecting. One of the hand inversion methods might help solve this. I also read Jay Defehr's other staining developer, Obsidian Aqua, has a minor loss of film speed when done in a rotary. Not sure if 510 might have the same issue.

It means I might have to get myself a Stearman Press SP645 tank but would be well worth it for the mountain of sheets I shot on the trip and I've been happy with the SP-8x10 tray (which is also an option over my rotary process).

That or I can develop in XT-3 which works great in a rotary. But I really do like how 510 handles grain and, though it doesn't actually matter, I really like how the negatives look with the stain :P
