Indeed. I was surprised that their recent announcement to add citizenship status to #Alberta drivers' licenses did not also include a requirement to include assigned sex at birth and legal names, but of course it is possible that even they would not be willing to risk the wrath of any of their base who suddenly discovered #MarriedNames are #AdoptedNames, not #LegalNames.

Back when I was fired by my Alberta public school board for being #trans, I said in media interviews (to the effect) that it was always my understanding that what is under one's clothes is never supposed to be part of school-related interactions with students, and that I had long understood we were always very clear about that.

It was completely baffling to me that my school board suddenly felt they had a right to know what was or wasn't in my trousers to allow me to continue to perform my professional obligations.

Today, it is no less horrifying to me that our government is now requiring ALL school boards to perform the same source of discriminatory measures against children, children have NO legal option other than to be present at school for most of their childhood years.

Just last year #Alberta's Premier stated her decision was "final" wrt this MLA *not* being allowed back into the #UCP if she won a seat as an independent.

I presume they have reneged on this promise so they have more open internal support for the grossly #transphobic legislation they're putting through? 🤔

Within days, our Premier stood on stage with a well-known American griftwinger and was photographed dining alongside a well-known Canadian griftwinger at the same event.

Days (hours?) later, she released a PSA-style announcement with soft lighting and music, explaining that she could "not permit this" WRT access to suitable medical care for trans children and youth, pronoun choice in school, etc.
