Anyone out there know if ANY #ActuallyDisabled Albertans are still actually disabled according to the #UCP ?

… Because any actual file review should NOT have determined I would somehow magically be fit for routine employment. (Lots of knowledge/education/skills sure, but close to ZERO predictability day-to-day re capacity beyond basic activities of remaining alive 🙄).

#ADAP does not look useful to me whatsoever, just even less funding than the woefully-inadequate AISH.

… but I suppose it's "nice" to know exactly how much the #abgov "values" its #disabled citizens? 🙄😐😡

Hearing the UCP is going to introduce anti-bikelane legislation on Monday.

You just know they've been holding on to that one for when they really needed to rally the troops and distract from a truly egregious scandal.

I guess their connections to the Centurion Project and the voter registration leak must actually be pretty serious for them.

Imo, it is BAU of the #ABLeg: gifting the #oil / #gas industry with billions of #Albertans' tax dollars in exchange for paying almost nothing to extract oil and leave messes for #ABgov to not clean up at great expense.

In short, it looks like #AB is being scammed.

But hey, I am not responsible for checking on this and ensuring it is not happening.

Something that I've noticed at hospital Emergency Departments in #Alberta recently... they no longer display the anticipated wait time to see a doctor.

Yeah, those nine hour wait times aren't exactly encouraging.

Speaking of stupid crap #ABgov is pulling: By now many if you know that #AISH recipients were all forced to apply for the Federal Canada Disability Benefit which would provide up to $200/mo to qualifying #DisabledCanadians and which #Alberta is clawing back, dollar for dollar.

What I didn't realise is that this is being managed federally similar to a tax credit, so pays from July 2025 through June 2026 inclusive.

Which also means recipients get a lump sum payment for prior months to whenever they were accepted.

Sometime after you provide AISH with proof of your #CDB, they will then have the collections dept contact you to "recover" this overpayment from the prior months' "overpayment."

So for goodness sake, set that lump sum aside and don't touch it until uou can just send it to them, or they will be deducting significantly MORE per month than JUST the regular monthly Federal benefit.
