we should #AbolishDST and #FallBackForeverOf course our dense-as-a-fruitcake premier thinks staying on DST would be a good idea when it makes far more sense to #AbolishDST in Alberta especially since that would put us "in sync" with the west coast all year now in addition to being better for our health.
I guess we better get going on a #FallBackForever campaign to do our best to make it done right!
@Pkbwood IIRC all the states on the pacific coast are trying to go full time PDT too.
Considering this and the fact Saskatchewan never adopted DST Alberta will be the odd duck in this situation. I think with this in mind Alberta should ABOLISH daylight savings time completely for several reasons:
* and MST == PDT so it would put us in sync with a larger population base and economic zone than Saskatchewan is
* Solar Noon in both Calgary and Edmonton is already significantly later than MST noon all year round and being on DST would make is even MORE off kilter. This is especially jarring in the winter as the sun would rise excessively late (almost 10AM before we would get daylight!)
* standard time is a social construct anyways so if businesses insist the myth about DST being better for them they can adjust their operating hours to suit them best anyways.

Finally done adjusting the clocks that do not adjust themselves. Apparently there is an app for my microwave, and I have installed it today, after using my microwave for 16 months without it, hoping that besides the "smart diagnostics" it would also let me adjust the clock (or even align it with my phone's clock or an NTP server). No, I still had to plug out the microwave and plug it in again to get to the clock settings. How very smart! (The other 2 are mechanical wall clocks.) Time to abolish the DST already!
We can now clearly put Cloud and Shadow (our cats) in camp DST is evil and should be abolished, which I support.
They are not happy about delayed breakfast.
So for the next week.... my meetings with North America will be 1 hour earlier? And then revert to what they were before?
DST is a menace. Abolish DST!
