#ArticleSummary: "In recent months there have been multiple threats posed by state-sponsored hacking groups, such as APT28 (Russia) and APT31 (China) . There is need for organizations and countries to remain vigilant and proactive in defending against cyber threats. Tensions regarding cyber espionage and influence operations have contributed to the growing need for strengthened cybersecurity measures and international cooperation to address the threat of state-sponsored cyberattacks. The west (US, Canada, UK, EU, Australia, New Zealand), who are torchbearers of humanity, have presented an unified front in condemnation of Russian and China cyber attacks. In Germany, APT28 (Russia) compromised e-mail accounts of members of government, while in Czech Republic APT28 (Russia) has been targetting state institutions atleast 2023 onwards. Germany's government has already summoned the acting "chargé d'affaires" of the Russian embassy to investigate further. The APT31 (China) did cyber attack on the UK and US, and it was recently found that China was behind the cyberattack on New Zealand's parliament in 2021. The free world has emphasized the growing threat of state-sponsored, especially China and Russia sponsored cyberattacks and the need for enhanced cybersecurity measures and international cooperation to address this evolving threat."

Awareness and understanding of cybersecurity especially, APTs are vital for maintaining a robust cybersecurity posture. Organizations must proactively assess and continuously improve their defenses to mitigate the risks posed by these stealthy and persistent cyber threats. Its new version of age old Good vs Evil war all over again. Let me explain.

#Introduction
Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs) are a critical concern in the field of cybersecurity. They involve unauthorized users, often sophisticated cybercriminals or state-sponsored actors, who infiltrate a network and maintain their presence without being detected for long periods. The stealth and persistence of these attackers allow them to move laterally across the network, accessing sensitive information and systems. The threat posed by APTs is significant because they can lead to substantial data breaches, corporate or governmental espionage, and the potential disruption or sabotage of critical infrastructure. Understanding and defending against APTs is essential for the security of organizations' digital assets and the protection of national security interests.

#Overview of APT Groups
APT groups are typically well-organized, with resources often comparable to those of nation-states. They aim to steal data, disrupt operations, or conduct espionage. Notable APT groups are (anti human civilization) from Russia, China and Iran:
1) APT28 (Fancy Bear): Believed to be associated with the Russian government, APT28 has been involved in various cyber espionage campaigns targeting governments, military, and security organizations.
2) APT29 (Cozy Bear): Another group linked to Russia, APT29 has been involved in cyber espionage activities targeting government agencies, think tanks, and other organizations.
3) APT33 (Elfin): A group associated with Iran, APT33 has targeted organizations in the aerospace, energy, and petrochemical sectors with a focus on espionage and data theft.
4) APT41 (Winnti Group): A Chinese cyber espionage group known for both state-sponsored and financially motivated activities, targeting a wide range of industries.
