It is thought the bottlenose dolphin was washed up on an ancient shoreline after the last Ice Age.

Dog #5 is also from Newtown, Co. Dublin hinterland site. Just a partial humerus fore leg bone and a partial lower jaw with some teeth. This site did yield a lot of dog skeletal remains. These dogs tend to be in the medium to larger type ranges. #VikingDublinDogs #zooarch #dogs

Finished putting the #mammal boxes in the #zooarch collection into modern #taxonomic order today! I do still need to do one final pass-through to filter in some stragglers and new specimens, but then it's on to #birds!
