It's interesting to me that many reviews say this book is too "basic", or that the info is obvious. The more I read it, the more I ask myself "what else is a guide book for autistic trans people supposed to do besides....guide people in ways to tap into their autistic trans selves?"
I think sometimes folks forget we all need to start somewhere.
Guides help folks feel less alone, and that's valuable in the hour of alienation
the genderqueer grouch in me picked up this book at the right time.
I journeyed with Malatino as they
explored the negative affects that tend to get left out of popular trans-cultural productions; anger, sadness, grief, etc. The affective complexity that gets side-lined to win the debate about "trans rights".
I am quietly thankful that true liberation requires all of the messy feelings and moments, not to win, but to get free.
