I tried the #ThinkPad #MagicEraser trick to refurbish the sticky rubber coat of my #X260 and #X250.
I tried (random order):
Wiping with cotton cloth with IPA.
Magic Eraser dry.
Magic Eraser in IPA.
Magic Eraser with water.
Paper Towels and IPA.
Worked like magic on my X260, but which of those steps really did the trick? Let's try on my reference X250:
I did several rounds of Magic Eraser and lots of IPA. Still sticky! Strong wipe with cotton cloth in IPA it is.

Bah…
Pour mon #Framework13 pour le moment,
les points négatifs :
- un son à chier, souvent craquant (mauvais assemblage ponctuel ?).
- il ne passe pas en veille (firmware pas top ?).

les points positifs :
- la finesse.
- le clavier vierge.
- et effectivement, la puissance est incroyablement supérieure par rapport à l'ancienne, mais… je partais d'un #X250 avec 8 Go de Ram de 2015 environ pour passer à un Ryzen AI 340 avec 32 Go de RAM, alors bon… 😅

Just noticed that my #Thinkpad #X240 / #X250 #Debian Sid (aka #DebianUnstable) installation had its 10th anniversary in April this year via https://packages.debian.org/unstable/installation-birthday

The installation is older than the X250 as I initially bought an X240: It finally had a usable resolution compared to the X230—but the awkward touchpad without hardware buttons for the thumbstick. So the next year I bought an X250 and moved over the installation. And my father got an X240 for his birthday. 😇

Le #X250 ira a SixAns. Avec le clavier #bépo, pour prendre directement les bonnes habitudes.

@amcq I've had really good experiences running #debian and #guix on #x220; #debian, #ubuntu and #arch on #x250 and #t480

#x220 is practically a relic at this point, but still very usable

My daily driver is the #t480, which is eminently user upgradable (likely the last such #thinkpad). I even maxed it out with 64GB of aftermarket RAM

Je vend mon Lenovo x250 parce que je n'en ai plus l'utilité depuis un moment.

Je l'ai un peu boosté, c'est un i5 avec un écran FHD (1920x1080), 8Go de Ram, 2 SSD (1 m.2 et un SATA), 2 batteries et un lecteur d'empreinte.
