I had the incredible chance to join 75 women from 9 different countries all working for my company for a networking & workshopping event this week.
I loved the opportunity, and meeting colleagues from all over Europe, making connections (and shocking a few people as well).
But damn, am I freaking tired. I have peopled too much.
And next week I have to people again a lot, for a whole 4 days.

(first) work frustration of the day:
Colleague request feedback on presentation for a training regarding quality in projects. Presentation is hosted on a sharepoint page (aka a collaborative platform). Colleague does not give rights to add comments to the 50-count slide deck.
Which means I have three options:
1. Write my comments in an email, referring to each slide
2. Write my comments on the slides (as comments, obviously), try to extract them into a file (not a native feature I think?) and send that.
3. Write my comments (as comments), save the file to my cloud storage, and share the file.
Because fucking Digital Team coworkers can't be arsed to use the fucking digital tools we have properly.

Somehow this month has been so exhausting that the effect of vacation at the end of June is completely gone, and it feels more like I've been working without vacation for 6 months straight.
My morning starts reviewing issues made by client on our documents. Client keeps demanding out of fucking scope items. Dude is damn lucky he's out of reach, because dude really really wakes my Spanish temper.
What the f*ck is it with architecture offices that
- don't have decent meeting rooms
- do not care about acoustics (aka you don't understand shit)
- the rooms have wood school chairs (super comfy)
- don't have proper hybrid setting (audio / video)
- walking around the room means noise, and not talking towards mic
I am lucky that my work allows me to work from home as much as I want. On the other hand they also require a certain flexibility to go to different offices if needed. Which means this week I'll be working from home approx 3 days, and visiting 3 different offices in 3 cities.
Company locked down installing unauthorised software: OK, I get it. Annoying I cannot update my headset tho.
Company only allows software to be installed via the software center. OK. Fine.
Company now requires that you request an admin password using an app (on said software center) to install other software from the software center... Euh... Fiiine.
Company fails to use a clear monospace font and color code numbers / letters / symbols on said passwords. Their workaround is to paste it onto notepad 🙄 not getting amused here
Additionally, installing certain software from the software center (autodesk revit, I am looking at you) fails more often than not.
I have spent over half a working day this week trying to get software installed, as a frigging workaround to get an in house plug in for said software to work because I need it to do my job.
Not amused.
