So the 'senior' hardware engineer (he's not even 30, I hate how senior titles have become meaningless) at this customer has managed to create a prototype PCB with all connectors mirrored.

Top/bottom view is such a difficult concept.

Sadly due to the way they are distributed we can't just flip it over... #workfrustration

(first) work frustration of the day:

Colleague request feedback on presentation for a training regarding quality in projects. Presentation is hosted on a sharepoint page (aka a collaborative platform). Colleague does not give rights to add comments to the 50-count slide deck.

Which means I have three options:
1. Write my comments in an email, referring to each slide
2. Write my comments on the slides (as comments, obviously), try to extract them into a file (not a native feature I think?) and send that.
3. Write my comments (as comments), save the file to my cloud storage, and share the file.

Because fucking Digital Team coworkers can't be arsed to use the fucking digital tools we have properly.

Company locked down installing unauthorised software: OK, I get it. Annoying I cannot update my headset tho.

Company only allows software to be installed via the software center. OK. Fine.

Company now requires that you request an admin password using an app (on said software center) to install other software from the software center... Euh... Fiiine.

Company fails to use a clear monospace font and color code numbers / letters / symbols on said passwords. Their workaround is to paste it onto notepad 🙄 not getting amused here

Additionally, installing certain software from the software center (autodesk revit, I am looking at you) fails more often than not.

I have spent over half a working day this week trying to get software installed, as a frigging workaround to get an in house plug in for said software to work because I need it to do my job.

Not amused.

Today I had to reboot my work laptop, which meant it installed the updates, and upgraded to Windows 11. All in all, a hour work.

Then I realized the update/upgrade had removed the teams meeting add-in from Outlook. Had a Google, tried to fix it, no go. So I opened a ticket with IT.

IT was busy for 45 minutes (in which I could not use my work laptop), and tried several times what I had already tried and a couple extra things. They did not fix it. They decided to escalate to second line.

So now I'm waiting for a solution from second line.

I get to work only to find that the posters & leaflets for an event that I printed on Wed remotely, specifically because said event would be attended by folk who’re in for a gathering on Thurs, have not been put up/out.
Also - in the staff room - hand soap & washing up liquid r down to the dregs. Ask the caretaker to refill them OR walk down to the caretaker’s office & refill them yourself!

Is this a Neurotypical Thing? Cause I really don’t understand this behaviour. #Autism
