2026 PAD Challenge Day 29

https://faecorpspublishing.org/2026/04/29/2026-pad-challenge-day-29/

My Response Is:

Here I sit for all to hear
Singing my history,
In hopes that I am not the only one
that learns lessons from it.

for forgotten history is repeated,
and repeated history is nothing but tears.
So, I will sing it as loudly as my voice allows.
I will sing it as often as I may...
And I will hope that I am strong enough
to keep the memories alive
and history at bay. #FaepadIndiepoet #Blogging #halfMadPoet #poemsByPatriciaHarris #poetry #poetryCommunity #poetryIsNotDead #WomenPoets

My Response is:

Perhaps the world has forgotten
the simple pleasures of laying back
watching dragons in flight.

children still dream of them,
so easily as if the dragons
are solid and real...

so why have adults forgotten? #Faepad #Padchallenge #Blogging #halfMadPoet #poemsByPatriciaHarris #poetry #poetryCommunity #poetryIsNotDead #WomenPoets

2026 PAD Challenge Day 17

2026 PAD Challenge Day 17

my response is :

a house with no foundation
falls in so quickly...
so too does the soul
without ego fail.

We need to build
a foundation,
stable and true...
so that with time
we know the ability
to face the truth.

“Hope” is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words,
And never stops at all,

And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.

I’ve heard it in the chillest land,
And on the strangest sea;
Yet, never, in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.

“I wonder if the sap is stirring yet,
If wintry birds are dreaming of a mate,
If frozen snowdrops feel as yet the sun
And crocus fires are kindling one by one:
Sing, robin, sing;
I still am sore in doubt concerning Spring.”

I like that they translated #womenpoets of the #beatgeneration in French but I'm glad they chose to do so in a bilingual version because despite the quality of the work that was done I feel limited by the mandatory #translation choices #poets #poetry
