Éliane Taïeb wrote some of the first post apocalyptic novels in the 50's, under the names of Julia Verlanger and Gilles Thomas.

Some of them, like "La Mort en Billes", take place in France.

You can find them in some secondhand bookshops but also at the Bragelonne editions.

Cherryh is a Grand Master of Science Fiction, a 3 time Hugo award winner. Many of her books are from the perspective of characters adjacent to major events.

Repost for International Women's Day.

This was a render to promote equal rights for women on german #wikipedia (#wikifüralle - the admins tried hard to make female scifi and fantasy authors invisible) but evolved into a more global women's rights poster I rereleased for international women's day. It is a modern scifi take on a classic motive, you most probably all know the original.
